The Hot House West Swing Orchestra is the flagship ensemble of the Hot House West 501(c)(3). This 14-piece swing machine encapsulates the raw energy, expression, and joy of swing rhythm. By turns serious and silly, the Swing Orchestra will leave you laughing, crying, smiling, hugging and giving in to the irresistible urge to dance.
Drawing upon the rich history of swing music, The Swing Orchestra masterfully blends traditions and styles. From Gypsy jazz to western swing, trad jazz to bebop: if it swings, nothing is off-limits!
Hot House West is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to acoustic music. Our purpose is to create experiences of connectedness, learning, and joy through the language of acoustic music.
We envision Salt Lake City as a hub for world class acoustic music. We accomplish this by building a healthy community-oriented ecosystem that’s accessible for all.
The Swing and Trashmoon Collectives are initiatives of Hot House West aimed at creating a community of musicians of all levels to connect and play music. Through our programs the Trashmoon Collective and Swing Collective, we offer access to various opportunities through workshops, jam sessions, dances, recurring gigs, and performances.
We are fostering new connections and friendships. Our mission is to create an inclusive environment where anyone can experience the joy of acoustic music, whether you're a seasoned musician or just picking up an instrument again.
