C.T.A. – Chick Corea Elektric Band II (Miles Davis) | MIDI Recreation + Drum Solo 🥁🎼🎹🎵
I recently transcribed “C.T.A.” — originally written by Miles Davis — but this time I focused on Chick Corea’s amazing version with the Elektric Band II from Paint the World.
Sometimes I’m really grateful I took ear training seriously back in school — it definitely pays off! My transcription skills have come a long way, and as a drummer, being able to hear harmonies and melodies clearly really helps me understand where I am in the form.
Here’s a MIDI recreation I made in Ableton — featuring, of course, an extended drum solo over the form.
