The Black Dahlia Murder - Alan Cassidy "Flies" Drum Cover featuring John Kempainen
We have reached the end of the 5 week series of videos I've been putting out, filmed and recorded with @thatlocalguitarist at Akuro Productions and mixed by Eliot Bayless.
Flies has always been one of my favorite Black Dahlia songs, and I have wanted to cover it for a while now. I met @JohnKempainen1983 a few years ago, and when I finally had the time to learn and record the song, I thought it would be cool to ask him to do guitar for it and get something better than an AI stem extraction.
Luckily, he had already been learning and practicing this song so it didn't take long to get him out to Akuro Productions to record it. We purposely decided to keep it just drums and one guitar to try and create a live feel of the two of us playing together in the same room, which I think gives it a little more raw energy to the recording.
I hope you enjoyed the series! I'll be back with some more videos hopefully soon!
