Devour Music

Rain and Snow was written by Dan Wall, the lead singer of Old Salt. It is a wild take on the traditional Old-Time song from the USA. It also contains one hymn heard coming out of church in Valladolid, Mexico, of unknown origin, and a carol from France called Noël Nouvelet dating back to the late 15th century. A version of Noël Nouvelet can be heard throughout Europe as “The Green Blade Riseth,” with text by J. M. C. Crum. Old Salt imagined their original text and composition as a New Year’s song. A song simply about the cycle of life. ============================= Musicians Dan Wall – Main Vocals, Banjo Lotte Remmen – Violin, Vocals Johannes Wannyn – Guitar, Vocals Tomás Peralta – Bass Toby Kuhn – Cello Audio Credits Recorded by: Jeroen Geerinck (Studio Trad), Tomás Peralta (Ranch'n'Chapel Studio), Dan Wall (Bindle Studios), Toby Kuhn (Presseau Studios) Mixed & Mastered by: Adam Pietrykowski Produced by: Dan Wall Video Credits Camera & Direction: Stéphan Talneau Editing: Toby Kuhn Filmed at the Center for Applied Arts Antwerp Special thanks to Remmen BVBA ============================= Lyrics – "Rain and Snow" Written and Composed by Dan Wall Includes the melody from “The Green Blade Riseth” and a hymn heard in a church in Valladolid, Mexico. I’ve seen green blades of grain, hear the call of summer rain, Fight on through the cold rain and snow A bird flew in the room, sang an old familiar tune I’d fly ten thousand miles to hear your song Love will live again, when we meet our end From the ground where the green blades grow (They’re) passing one by one, like the rising of the sun Over home to the stars in the sky ============================= Follow Old Salt @oldsaltband Website: https://www.oldsalt.band/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/oldsaltband Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oldsaltband Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/002BVNbUWG7AwZfeWnkOMW?si=j5zpd3_6T4m7vooZhOb49Q ============================= #oldsaltband | #rainandsnow | #folkfusion | #newfolkmusic ============================= Let this song accompany your new beginnings.
