🎵Treasures of the Archives – Part 11: Memories of ✨“Pilgrim“ | 30 years anniversary concert Andreas Vollenweider & Friends at the Montreux Jazz Festival 2011✨ "Pilgrim, a very personal song. It was during the time when I was mourning my mother’s death. I sat at the guzheng, the Chinese harp, which she loved so much. As I was playing quietly to myself — perhaps trying to ease the ache for a moment, it seemed as though the music began to lift the weight of grief, that heavy cloak that had settled on my shoulders. I was still sad, yet I felt light and as if held in a gentle dialogue with my mother. Throughout her life, she was deeply inspired by Sufism and walked, with unwavering devotion, the Sufis path of love. And from this, the song Pilgrim emerged." – Andreas #montreuxjazzfestival #mjf #andreasvollenweider #andreasvollenweiderandfriends #andreasvollenweidermusic #memories #livemusic
