Devour Music

This is my guitar cover of the Jackson Guitars – American Series Rhoads promotion video featuring Jeff Loomis & Brandon Ellis. Where do I even start… this was definitely one of the harder covers I’ve ever worked on. Since I couldn’t find a backing track anywhere online, I had to recreate my own backing track from scratch. I programmed the drums, bass, and recorded the rhythm guitars in Logic Pro. I’m not a professional music producer, so the backing track is far from perfect and definitely not production-level quality — but it was the best I could do with my current skills. The solo parts took a lot of time to transcribe, learn, and practice. In terms of note accuracy, I’d say I’m around 80%, as some parts were extremely hard to transcribe 1:1 or had very complex fingerings, which forced me to improvise in certain sections. Overall performance-wise, I’d honestly rate this take at around 60% of what I’d like it to be. At this point, I don’t think I can deliver a much better performance because I always play worse the moment I turn the camera on :D and Jeff Loomis & Brandon Ellis are simply insane guitar players with unbelievable technique, feel, vibrato, and speed... Regarding the backing track — if anyone is interested, I can upload it separately later. 🎛️ Gear Used: -Neural DSP Quad Cortex (Gojira plugin) -Logic Pro -Jackson RR1 Custom Shop Select -Jackson SL1H Soloist Custom Shop (DiMarzio X2N pickup) The original song is in C Standard, but since my guitars are tuned to D Standard, I played it in that tuning. Thanks for watching and listening 🤘
