Blood and Bone "Blood and Bone" was primarily written by Marc McNally, a great Guitarist and lifelong best friend of Michael Angelo Batio and Drummer Rob Ross. Michael, Marc and Rob played in several bands together in their early and mid twenties. Marc passed away in 2025 and this video is a tribute to Marc from Michael and Rob. All three were in a band in the early 80's called U.S. "Blood and Bone" was written during that time. This song falls into the category of early "Doom Metal" with dark lyrics and a slower grinding beat. Michael added the 7 string Guitar and modulated the original key of E down to B in parts, to give it a heavier sound. Marc originally wrote "Blood and Bone" for Michael to sing Lead Vocals on. This version is based off of an original cassette recording of their band, U.S, playing the song back in the early 80's. Michael and Rob discussed how they wanted the video to look and decided to make a Performance, Music Video without special effects and give it the "look" of the early MTV videos reminiscent of bands like The Cars. No AI was used anywhere in the audio or video of this song. About this recording - Rob played the Drums live in the studio. Michael set up 2 cameras in his studio and filmed Rob. What you see in this video is Rob's actual live performance. Michael then recorded and mixed the rest of the song. Written by Marc McNally, Michael Angelo Batio and Rob Ross. The ending 7/4 section was written by Doug Johnsonson.
