This is the third instrument @aknguitars has sent me, with the brief—“write something insanely brutal with it.” Beyond its striking, one-of-a-kind look, what really stands out is how comfortable the neck feels, how precise and dialed-in the whole instrument is, and how effortlessly it delivers a huge, crushing metal tone. With its extreme design, 27-inch scale, 27 frets, a single volume control, and a Seymour Duncan Nazgul pickup, it’s built for modern metal and djent—and it absolutely delivers. This isn’t your everyday guitar, and it’s definitely not for everyone. Honestly, I’m not even sure I’m fully up to the task—but this is what I managed to get out of it. Writing this track was an incredibly exciting process, and shooting the video was just as much fun.
