Devour Music

Viola player Tabea Zimmermann, accompanied on piano by Javier Perianes, starred in the closing concert of the 2014-2015 season. The two performers tackled a program with works that, for the most part, had not been originally conceived for the viola. The core of the program were works from the German Romantic period (Schubert, Schumann, Brahms), that balanced with a performance of Falla's Seven Spanish Folk Songs and a selection from Signs, Games and Messages for solo viola by György Kurtág, one of whose movements was dedicated to Tabea herself.
