Baroque Violin: Vivaldi, Bach & Pisendel | Anna & Lorenzo Ghielmi · MarchVivo
In the first half of the 18th century, Dresden became one of the European capitals of music. Its library has preserved the vast personal archive of the first court violinist between 1722 and 1755, the German Johann Georg Pisendel, a disciple of Antonio Vivaldi. The violin sonatas in this program come from this legacy, faithful to the coexistence of different national styles in this Catholic German court.
Francesco Maria Veracini (1690–1768)
