Devour Music

wrote this today with Natalie Hemby in nashville

take this memory
an amulet
against your cosmic maladies

take this memory
and let it charm
away your sad and lonely feelings

times are gettin hard
it won't be long before it's over
life is like a yard
there's weeds than four leaf clovers

take this memory
and wash your hands
of all that dirty history

take this memory
no breathe of air
is taken secretly

before I depart
into that carnival of dust
god's electric heart
will have to be enough for
