Joaquín Rodrigo's piano works span his entire compositional career. The "Suite for Piano" (composed in 1923 for the National Music Competition) and the "Deux berceuses" (written in 1929) were premiered by Ricardo Viñes. In 1935, he wrote Sonada del adiós for the commemorative supplement on Paul Dukas organised by Henry Prunières in La Revue Musical.
