Vivaldi & the Orphan Girls of Venice with Les Cris de Paris (Full performance) | Ambronay Festival
Filmed at the 2015 Ambronay Festival
The orphan girls of Venice were among the most celebrated performers of eighteenth-century Venice, and some of Vivaldi's finest ambassadors. With Les Cris de Paris, Geoffroy Jourdain returns to this female source, casting the composer's sacred works in a light that is at once faithful and unexpected.
