Piano Music from Africa | Rebeca Omordia · MarchVivo
The West's conventional image of African music has overshadowed works intended for the concert hall. This concert, part of the Black Musics series, showcases the vitality of the piano in contemporary African music. Works composed by artists from Nigeria, Ghana, Morocco, Ethiopia and Algeria bear witness to the unique sound of this continent, the result of a fusion between indigenous rhythms and the European tradition.
