DEUTSCHES JAZZFESTIVAL FRANKFURT | JAKOB BÄNSCH QUARTETT
Jakob Bänsch and his band perform at the Deutsches Jazzfestival Frankfurt - Day 1
2. Konzert:
- JAKOB BÄNSCH: Trumpet / Flugelhorn
- NIKLAS ROEVER: Piano
- JAKOB OBLESER: Upright Bass
- LEO ASAL: Drums
In terms of music, Jakob Bänsch initially led a double life between classical music and jazz until he realized “that you really have to be a child prodigy to do that”. At the age of 15, he began studying Jazz at the Stuttgart University of Music and made a name for himself in the scene. His album “Opening” was awarded the German Jazz Prize 2024 as “Debut Album of the Year” in April.
The trumpeter, who was just 20 years old at the time of its release, is astonishing not only for his playing but also for his compositional skills. Bänsch and his young fellow musicians move effortlessly between the beautiful sound of chamber music and gripping jazz energy.
