Modernist Four-Hand Piano: Ravel, Milhaud & Gershwin | Dúo Del Valle · MarchVivo
Music for four-hand piano reached its peak in the early 20th century thanks to composers such as Ravel, Milhaud, and Stravinsky, who transferred the essence of their own orchestral works to the keyboard, thereby facilitating their dissemination at a time when recording technology was still very rudimentary. Arrangements and compositions originally conceived to be performed by twenty fingers round out the program.
