fever dream (digitone 2)
This video is about experimenting with the song mode on the Digitone 2. Instead of playing a pattern for all 64 steps, I used song mode to stop it at 48 steps and change to a 16 step "fill" pattern with slightly different patches and FX settings. The fill pattern only plays for 12 steps before switching to a 2 step pattern with TONS of delay, then another 2 step pattern with no delay at all.
The process was more work than manually switching patterns, as it was easy to make mistakes while setting up the song. However, I found it helpful that you could display the pattern name per line in the song mode.
Song mode has been available for years, but I've only recently started giving it a serious try. As I get more comfortable with using song mode, I think I'll be able to create some interesting tracks.
