Here's the solo guitar arrangement of Pat Metheny's James. I followed what I played on duo video with Jun Izumi. I played 7 strings on that recording so I re-played it with Cordoba Fusion Orchestra CE. Watch the original recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nwp50ljlvvg
There are few moments I played differently compared to the original Pat Metheny/Lyle Mays arrangement. The most obvious one is at the intro, Dm7 part and Gmaj7 to A7 part. I recommend to just get idea from this one and modify the arrangement as you like.
Prior to this recording, I made the strings action lower by scraping both nut and bridge on this guitar, for the nut I made it too low so I had to put few pieces of cardboard box. The trick I got from my classical guitar teacher Toru Nakagawa.
