Exploring what Light and Warmth can musically mean.
About the Artist:
The Bassist and Composer Or Bareket, known for his distinctive Lyricism, rhythmic skill, and groove-oriented approach, brings his Quartet to Musig in Pflegidach.
Upcoming Album:
Bareket presents his fourth album YŌM, released on Enja Records. This new work features a powerful ensemble with Godwin Louis on alto- and soprano saxophone, Jeremy Corren on piano, Savannah Harris on drums, and Joel Ross on vibraphone.
This album represents a new development for his group and Bareket as a composer. The music is energetic, focused, and expansive in its emotional content, but rigorous and patient in its presentation.
About the Album:
The title YŌM means "Day" in both Hebrew and Arabic languages. The album features 13 tracks that attempt to capture the wide range of what Light and Warmth can mean musically: from illuminating to blinding, from comfortable warmth to burning heat.
Artist Statement:
The unique balance of personal temperaments within the Quartet is perfectly suited to explore this vast sonic landscape.
